About this Group
This groups main goals are to provide a gallery for buyers of the best travel and culture images of the Mediterranean Sea’s surrounding country’s shorelines. Photographers please submit your high quality images of Mediterranean living, wether you’r a resident, were there on vacation or work. You are all welcomed here. Please make sure your photo submissions are relevant to the Mediterranean region. Major cities inland, like Paris are not considered Mediterranean lifestyle, but the entire South of France and French Riviera are Mediterranean.
Welcoming all countries surrounding the Mediterranean and its marginal seas in clockwise order are Spain, France, Monaco, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, Greece, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Palestine (Gaza Strip), Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, and Morocco; Cyprus and Malta are island countries in the sea. In addition, Northern Cyprus (de facto state) and two overseas territories of the United Kingdom (Akrotiri and Dhekelia, and Gibraltar) also have coastlines along the Mediterranean Sea. The drainage basin encompasses a large number of other countries, the Nile being the longest river ending in the Mediterranean Sea.
The Mediterranean Sea encompasses a vast number of islands, some of them of volcanic origin. The two largest islands, in both area and population, are Sicily and Sardinia. Other notable islands include Ibiza and Corsica.
Group Rules:
1. Photography Only, unless specified differently for individual contests & discussions. This must be a Mediterranean place you have visited and captured with a camera.
2. No more than 4 images per day.
3. No Politics unless it is coming from a neutral perspective such as documenting journalism . I just don’t have the knowledge or patience on the many countries and languages within, sorry.
4. Please make sure your photo submissions are relevant to the Mediterranean region and your location is visibly noted in your title or description.
